I love chocolate and who doesn’t love donuts? I am also a big fan of FlavorGod seasonings and one of my favorite spice blends is their chocolate donut seasoning. However, when I ran out one day and FlavorGod was out of stock I was in crisis! So I had to take matters into my own hands and make my own Copycat Chocolate Donut Seasoning.
I did my best guess as to the proportions of spices, just going off the ingredients on the back of the bottle. The main ingredient is honey powder, but I wanted to make this seasoning truly sugar free, so I used stevia to sweeten it. My favorite stevia powder is by Trim Healthy Mama. Honestly, I’m a huge fan of all their sugar free sweeteners, so I encourage you to try them out. Their stevia is super concentrated, so you only need a bit and tastes great.
The next ingredient is unsweetened cocoa powder. You can use this, or swap it out like I did for the cacao powder. This chocolaty super food is a powerful antioxidant, is high in magnesium and calcium, while being low in fat and has zero sugar. I use this one by Healthworks.
The final ingredients for the copycat chocolate donut seasoning are cinnamon, coriander, cardamom and nutmeg. These spices give it a bit of an exotic and spicy flavor that I absolutely love! Cinnamon is a natural fat burner, is also high in antioxidants and contains anti-inflammatory properties.
Just place all these ingredients in a mason jar and shake! It’s so easy. I add copycat chocolate donut seasoning to oatmeal, yogurt, coffee, on top of fruit and my favorite creation, on top of popcorn! The picture shown above is on Nearly Naked popcorn.
